Features and Functions
CartAnswer has many features and functions to allow you maximum flexibility in the display of products and options in your shopping cart. Easily display information and pictures as well as maintain your inventory using straightforward administration screens and reports. With CartAnswer you will be able to accept major credit cards and automatically notify customers that their orders have been received.

Products
A product is your inventory. A product is what you want to sell. Some examples of products are

With CartAnswer, you can quickly and easily add, edit and delete products, upload photos, add product descriptions including weight and UPC code, change prices, offer discounts, and keep track of your product inventory.
Photos
CartAnswer can display up to three different sizes of photographs of your product.
Thumbnail - a small image usually used to show many products on the same page
Medium - a larger image usually accompanied by the product description and price
Large - a full screen image for maximum detail
Product Descriptions
CartAnswer allows for both a short description and a long description. The short description can accompany either the thumbnail or the medium size photo. The long description can accompany either photo or be on a separate page. Both short and long descriptions are optional.
Prices - several prices can be entered here. The following options for prices are available:
Retail Price - this is often the manufacturer's suggested retail price or the price a consumer could find in a bricks-and-mortar store.
Selling Price - this is the price you are actually selling the product for on your site.
Your cost - this is the price you paid to build or acquire the product for resale (for your use only - not displayed).
Shipping - this is the cost to ship the product by your standard shipping method. Rush charges for shipping are added at check-out.
Products can be displayed with no pricing. A price need not be entered to display products on your website using CartAnswer. You may want customers to call for prices to establish a relationship and initiate competitive bidding.
Products can also be displayed without allowing for ordering. An example of where this would be useful would be large ticket items where price negotiation takes place. No online ordering would also be status quo for items with too large a price tag for most credit card limits.
Meta Tags
CartAnswer allows you to easily create unique page titles and descriptions for each page in your shopping cart - both category pages and product pages. The title of your product becomes your default page title while your short description becomes your default page description. Alternately, the product screen allows you to create custom meta tags for each page. These meta tags will allow search engines to index each and every product in your inventory - a huge boost to your search engine rankings.
Categories
With CartAnswer, you can easily manage your products by grouping them into logical categories. Examples of categories for a car site would be:

Subcategories - subcategories fall under the major category headings to further segement the products and assist the buyer in locating the right product. Some examples of subcategories for a car site are:
Passenger cars
SUVs
Pick-up trucks
With CartAnswer you will have an unlimited number of levels of subcategories. You can add, view, and edit your categories in an easy Index format.
Features
A feature is associated with a specific product - it can be either included in the price of the product or optional for an additional price. You will decide whether any particular feature is included or optional.
CartAnswer also allows Feature Only Products. A Feature Only Product is an option that can be purchased as a standalone item i.e. Mag wheels - they can be included with the car, an option for an additional cost, or priced as a standalone item that can be ordered separately. You will only need to keep track of the feature in one place for all three scenarios.
Feature groups
A feature group is a group of options for a product from which a mandatory choice must be made in order to receive the product. Some examples of Feature Groups include:
Color (red, yellow, green, or blue)
Size (small, medium, size 44)
Insurance amount ($50k, $500k, $1M)
Orders
Your orders will be stored in a database that can be accessed and sorted based on your business needs. Receive automatic notification of incoming orders individually or in batches. Alternatively, you can log on and see your daily orders online. Reports detailing your orders can be customized from the database to match your specific production and accounting protocols.

Set your preferences with a click of a button. Use custom or stock buttons for order and checkout. Turn pricing features on and off. And more.
